Libya has submitted a request to the Turkish government to buy 20,000 G3 assault rifle in an attempt to strengthen to national army. The G3 is a 7.62×51mm NATO battle rifle developed in the 1950s by the German armament manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH. The G3 is produced produced under license in Turkey by the the Turkish defense Company MKE.
